DANIEL - I AIN'T LION!
Daniel believed so staunchly in the Living God that there was nothing on earth that could compel him to lie and deny God - not even a den of hungry lions! Oddly enough, in the modern day world, perhaps Daniel's oppressors would have been arrested for window peeping - but such was not the case when King Darius ruled the roost.
Our biblical cast includes: Hungry lions, conspiring tattletales, a king caught in the middle, a Christian, and God. Enter God's angel into the mix and we have a rescue story that will beat the daylights out of Rambo.
Daniel could have easily pitched his case before King Darius by simply denying his sovereignty to God. But he didn't. He stood fast, and although he trusted in God with all his heart, he wasn't 100% certain that those lions would turn into dandy-lions once he hit the den. But oh - did he have faith!
Next time that you face tribulations in life, look hard into the den. Do you see lions? Do you see biting sheep? Yes, even fellow Christians can rain heartache and sorrow upon our hearts.
Whether you see lions or sheep, God is always there in the midst to keep you safe from harm. It may be a test; it may something that you must experience so that you can help someone else later on Life's Pathway who encounters the same problem - someone that God knows may not be as strong as you, and who can benefit from your experience.
Keep the faith, for God always has a purpose in His plan.
