Earth,
Wind, Fire & Rain
Once
upon a time lived a young woman named Sadie.
On a particularly beautiful summer day,
the ground shook below her as she was collecting
a bouquet of flowers for her dining table
and she barely managed to escape damage
by running to a large tree and holding on
until the ground stabilized.
Frightened,
she gathered her senses and examined the
bouquet of flowers in her hands, finding
that they too had escaped damage.
As
she headed towards her little house in the
distance, she was eager to share her story
with her husband who was due home most any
minute. But as she scampered along, a great
wind kicked up, knocking her to the ground.
When the wind passed, she stood and was
relieved to see that both she and the bouquet
of flowers had again avoided damage.
Sadie
took only two steps when lighting struck
the tree beside her, igniting the wood into
a tall flame that rose high in the sky.
The
fire was so close that she felt the heat
ripple across her face and feared that her
hair would catch ablaze. But it didn't,
nor did the heat singe the bouquet of flowers.
When
she was but two steps from her back door,
a downpour hit like none other she had ever
experienced. Although wet and dripping,
she soon discovered that both she and her
bouquet of flowers had arrived inside the
house without any substantial damage.
When
Sadie's husband arrived, she shared her
story with him as they enjoyed the delicious
supper, the scent mingling with that of
the beautiful bouquet of flowers. All was
well.
Reflecting
upon Sadie's story, we are the bouquet of
flowers in God's hand. Satan rears up in
many forms - the earth, wind, fire and rain.
However, as long as we are in the hands
of God, we remain safe and should fear not.
All will be well.
