Weight Loss Motivators

While trying to lose weight, make a short list of things that you will use as rewards once you reach a certain weight loss amount, or a certain date.  Just like God rewards us, we should also reward ourselves because giving doesn't always mean sacrifice.

  • A new outfit in a smaller size.
  • Enjoy a celebration dinner with a loved one.
  • A day at a spa just for pampering.

 Weight Loss Tip

If you are trying to lose weight, you can calculate how long it will take to lose 'x pounds' by dividing 2 into the number of pounds you want to lose.

For example, if Dieter Jan wants to lose 24 pounds, it's going to take her about 12 weeks to reach her weight loss goal.

As a minister's daughter, I've just about seen and heard it all in my lifetime. Although we, as Christians, know what lies beyond our years on earth, life can be nothing more than a game to others.  People who want no part in God play hard, they buy the things that are most appealing to their eyes, they rise up in the world and become prominent business men and business women.  It's a game and a race against other humans and the Life Clock to see who can collect the most marbles.

They may have a house in the woods, a house by the beach, a family home, and several hot properties. The family home generally has a pool and sometimes a cabana.

The homes are almost always furnished with paintings, woven carpentry, silk pillows and crystal chandeliers. They have it all!

Everything.....except God, of course.  But...they don't want Him.  He's fake; non-existent. They'll play hard, enjoy life and go out 'with a big bang'  - and fortunately, Christians know the truth about that Big Bang!

Of course, many Christians have nice things too.  Sometimes, much more than they or their families will ever need, much less use. In my experience, 100% of the time, these folks claim that God has generously blessed them.

As Christians, we look at both of these situations - at the Christian and at the non-Christian.  We wonder why we ourselves don't have more. We have given perhaps more than the one that owns the house on a thousand hills. We don't understand.  The point is this....  If you are poor or living day-by-day, from paycheck to paycheck, it doesn't mean that God favors the rich Christian more than you.  God certainly did not bless the rich non-Christian.

Sometimes, the Game of Life can be very disconcerting for Christians. When it's all said and done, earthly possessions have zero value in God's eyes - even though it's a much different situation when viewed by we humans.  God blesses the ones that He loves in various ways - through good health, good spirit, kind hearts - and those gifts are priceless!  When the smoke clears, both the rich Christian and the poor Christian have nothing more than God's love and are equal in His eyes.
