What Dieting
Has in Common With Salvation

While the average individual might
believe that precious gems, gold, money, food, clothing,
a house and earthly belongings are the most important
things in life, we Christians know that the most important
thing in death is indeed salvation.
If you
have been trying to lose weight and are having problems
accomplishing that, let's try to find a seed to get
your Diet Garden growing for dieting has a lot in common
with salvation.
Think back to the time of your
redemption, to the moment of your saving moment with
God. The time had to be right. In fact,
you may have been approached many times before that
about salvation, but you just weren't ready.
You may
have even thought a great deal about God, about salvation,
and about the need for making things right with God
- but at those moments, the time just wasn't right.
Then one
day, the right time arrived. No one needed to
make you visit with God - in fact, anyone would have
had a hard time in restraining you from going to meet
with God.
If we could
just capture that feeling - that overpowering feeling
of desire that will overcome anything in life, then
no one would fail at dieting.
This type
of feeling - though nothing like the experience of salvation,
is the reason that some dieters go on to conquer weight
and win. And so can you with God's help, for with
Him, all things are possible.
