Weight Loss Motivators

While trying to lose weight, make a short list of things that you will use as rewards once you reach a certain weight loss amount, or a certain date.  Just like God rewards us, we should also reward ourselves because giving doesn't always mean sacrifice.

  • A new outfit in a smaller size.
  • Enjoy a celebration dinner with a loved one.
  • A day at a spa just for pampering.

 Weight Loss Tip

If you are trying to lose weight, you can calculate how long it will take to lose 'x pounds' by dividing 2 into the number of pounds you want to lose.

For example, if Dieter Jan wants to lose 24 pounds, it's going to take her about 12 weeks to reach her weight loss goal.

Have you ever had a time in your life when you and your Christian relatives or Christian friends collide?  You're doing everything that you can to get along and make peace, and you hear those 'chosen' words, "You aren't acting Christian-like!" OR "God is going to get you for that!" OR "I can't believe that you're a Christian." OR "You're certainly not as good a Christian as I am!" OR "You need to rethink your salvation." OR "You need to get saved."

At first, you stand there glary-eyed and in total shock.  You may have even said a bad word preceding those terrible outbursts from your friend or relative, or you may have lost your temper.  You were at your rope's end.  And at this point, you're just 'flat mad as a wet hen' that God is being brought into the situation! Furthermore, that your friend or relative thinks that they are better off in God's eye than you are! Who died and made them Judge??

God teaches us that there is a time and a place for everything. Even if you lost your temper, cursed or tossed something on the ground in anger, we all have our limits. Trouble is, once we 'lose it' we open ourselves up for judgment from 'our observers'.  Even if they did the same, your good nature and good sense would never get you to the point of a God-war-of-words.

If this situation sounds familiar, stop - take charge BEFORE you explode because doing such will only expose your level of frustration and allow others to attack. Think what is best for you - even in that fervent moment of anger. It's not an easy thing to do BUT it's the best thing for you!  Search your soul - God is there and will always help you.
