The Visionary
Dieter

Christians are among the best
visionaries in the world. They look ahead, they analyze, they know
what they want in regards to God and pleasing him. They arrange
their lives accordingly, going to church, giving of body and spirit,
they share their knowledge of God with those around them, they work
to make other people's lives better, they strive to see the good
in others, they make room for events involving God such as visitation,
church dedication services, reading their Bible and visiting the
sick.
If that visionary
drive could only be packaged and applied towards dieting, very FEW,
if any, dieters would fail!
While trying to drop
those unwanted pounds, think about where you want to be. Think about
your health, the meals that you'll need to plan, the few extra miles
that you'll need to walk to help get the weight off, and how others
can help support you so that you stay motivated and on track with
your diet plan. It may mean speaking with your partner and asking
them to switch to healthier offerings at mealtime. It may mean less
dining out and no hot buttered popcorn at the movies for a while.
As a Christian, you
know how God's work pays off. You know that sometimes, you
feel that everything that you do is entirely in vain - that you
have failed. But do you quit God?? No! Of course not!
You regather your thoughts, your strategy and you push forward
because of your great love for God. Do the same on your diet
plan - and yes, it will be very fruitful! Never, ever give up trying.
