Dust on the Bible
or Dust on the Weight Loss Scales?

There doesn't seem
to be enough hours in a day to get it all done! Society keeps modernizing
and improving methods, yet we still can't find time in our busy
day to focus on those things that are most important to us like
time with our kids, time with our partner, time to relax, and time
to read God's Word.
Is laundry important?
Yes, especially if you're down to your last set of undies. What
about shopping for that new outfit or that special book that you
plan on reading while relaxing - which by the way, never seems to
come! If we don't make time in our lives for the things that
are most important to us as Christians, those things will never
happen.
Sad but true, dieting
efforts are extremely time-consuming. Once the dieter gets the basics
of their new weight loss plan, it can be a breeze. However, it's
getting to that point which is so time-consuming.
Although dieting
and healthy eating are very important because they play a part in the
way that we feel, if you discover that your weight loss plan is
so time-consuming that it's getting in the way of those important
things in life, then it's time for a new diet plan. In the
long run, it's much better to have a little dust on the Diet Scales
than to have your life completely buried under. John Lennon had
a very memorable quote, "Life is what happens while we're making
other plans..." Some tips that might help squeeze in
time include:
- Try to find at least 15 minutes each day for
alone time so that you can focus on what is important to you.
- Rather than pounce right on something, try
letting your pile get a little bit bigger, then tackle. You
may find that you have less loads of laundry to wash or that
those hedges really can go another week without trimming.
- Prepare meals in advance and freeze for quick
access.
- Don't become so strict on your diet plan that
you live for tomorrow rather than today, because sometimes,
tomorrow doesn't come.
